Default VW Golf Mileage

Thinking of buying a VW Golf as a daily runabout.

Come across one which has done 129 k miles 1996 reg, should I be worried about the high miles or will golfs do alot more? I will only be doing about 5000 miles a year anyways.

What you think?

If it has been maintained and looked after then it should be okay. The mileage is average for the year so as long as it's a straight car, there should be no issues. By the way still waiting for the update on the 'other' thread.

They are asking £795 for it, does that sound fair?

What other thread, refresh my ageing memory

For a kosher car that sounds reasonable. Just go through it with a comb, old mots, bills etc. The other thread about your mate's mate, the big un'.

Goofs are pretty bullet -proof... i know of plenty that are over that kinda milage and are still going strong.

Lou, take a look on somewhere like club GTi or even Edition 38 for usual golf-esque things to look for etc
