Oil leaked out from behind the oil filter
Hi guys, and first of all don't buy an oil filter from A-Z motorparts or spares can't remember shop name. Me, my dad and a neighbour, were on a trip home from southern Portugal in my old mans Landcruiser going along at 75 - 80mph and unkown to us it leaked out. Suprisingly the engine isn't seized although a valve or two sounds like it is sticking. It is stuck in spain at the moment waiting to be recovered. The engine did not get hot so it had enough then blasted the remaining oil out so we lost all oil pressure. Also because oil pump is working apparently it pumped the dirt around. The info i need to know is what type of engine is it pushrods or ohv as it may need a topend rebuild. I'd be suprised if a engine would survive that as they are so complicated now. The bottom end seems to be perfect. Thanks in advance. Sorry forgot to mention it is the 1HDT 4.2 TD 12 valve engine.
Nathan.

Yep 1H-Dt 12 valve. Pretty old vehicle that, but we can fix it. We have some parts in stock, but not all, due to the age of it.
One problem may well be, that fixing the engine might come to more than the car is worth.
AND
No!, there isn't an alternative engine that fits easily.
