Default insuring a boxter with aero kit

hi i finally found a 53 plate boxter it comes with the factory option of an aero kit which is a fixed spoiler on the rear and different bumpers and side skirts and carrera 18" wheels as opposed to 17" wheels.
ive already had a quote to insure a boxter of this age do i have to disclose this info about the factory extras as its all porsche factory fitment.
anyone been in a situation like this before?

I'd mention it. If you can afford the car then make sure you are completely covered by the policy. No point trying to save a couple of hundred pounds over 12 months on the policy.

if you cant afford the insurance then dont buy the car ********.18" alloys your looking at close to £300 for a rear tyre on a boxter. standard 17" only a miserly £200. welcome to boxter big bill ownership hope your engine dosent blow thats £12,000 for a replacement from porsche.shouldve bought a 350z at least you can see the engine.he! he!

Great contribution... not

As for whether to declare it or not, yes I would. Apart from not being paid out for the body kit, the insurance company can technically refuse to pay out in the event of a claim as they can say you gave false or incomplete information.

If it was a factory fit then the difference in premium could be small but if it was a dealer fit it'll be material.

******** comment is a bit uncalled for, chill!

I would mention it, it is a faxtory upgrade/kit, it may make a difference to your premium, may not but best to disclose it.

If you do have a shunt they will send out an assessor and if undisclosed then you are not likley to get paid out.

If you're not gonna declare the extras you may as well save a few quid on the premium and just say it's a 950cc Fiesta, you'll get the same response from your insurer in the event of a claim, ie 'sorry sir, you're not covered'.
