With Honda having sold a good few thousand of the in the UK I would hope so.

I had 3 CTR's before getting an Impreza. Best car I had owned up until the Scoob.

They crave revs, have a good build quality and servicing is very reasonable. As has been said do a search, or better still join an 'R' forum and ask on there.

One I still use is Honda Type-R Owners website - Civic, Integra, Accord, NSX and S2000

Why do people reply with this ? If everyone used the search facility they would be nothing left to talk about.

Because when the same topics keep coming up it gets rather repetitive, which gets rather boring. We actually like something new and fresh to talk about.

RB5RLP, Nice example going here.

folks seem to rave about the ctr dont they,i must admit ive never quite seen the attraction ,no performance aspect of the car seems better than average imo,ok maybe reliable but surely not many choose a hot hatch because its maybe a bit more reliable.
Now if were talking the dc2 or dc5 then yes but they are a different breed imo.

I've had one for nearly 2 months, done just over 2k miles and loving every minute of it, even after coming from a 320 bhp classic.
No regrets on my part and the performance is more than you'd ever need. Can't see myself going back to a scoob again as the running costs in comparison can't make up for the odd times when you get to drive at 100%.
The sound of the Vtec is amazing aswell...proper touring car style

i agree 100% with this

i had a my04 sti ppp from new and the running costs + depreciation were just horrific

i now own a 07fn2 type R and the performance ,drive ,costs ,sound are very very good.
after owning this car for 2months i would never go back to a subaru (its not justifyable).

i would definatly advise any1 to try 1

Hmm! I can see a pattern emerging here. You'll all be getting diesels after the CTR's! I had a couple of scoobs, then a CTR...(personally thought it was sh1te!!!) but now having seen the light, drive an oil burner. Oh, and just in case you all say "oil burners are *%$£%%", this particular oil burner wastes CTR's up to the NSL every time, and still returns 48mpg!!

I saw one in the flesh the other day and they do look rather nice. The pre facelift model of the old shape looks rather dated now.

I must say Im quite tempted by one. The difference in ownership costs from a scoob is different league. Havent got around to doing much homework. Can you answer me a few questions?

i) What is the service intervals?
ii) I assume base spec still has no air con (GT says dual zone climate control)?
iii) From the pics Ive seen it seems the gear stick is lower down the dash now. Is that the case as must admit that was one of the things I loved about the old model?

Cheers,
Simon

Drove my mates CTR for a week. Lovely to drive every day and snicking up and down the box to stay on the boil is a joy rather than a chore. It felt like 90% of my S2000 but much more every day friendly. My only complaint is that when pushing in the twisties the humps and bumps can send the thing all over the road.

There are some excellent threads that are worth revisiting that answer all of your questions.
There are also only so many threads on 'how to post up a picture' or 'what does SIAL mean' that you can take

Slightly off topic, but:

Got my Ibiza Cupra TDI running at 200bhp declared (remap, strut brace, pipercross filter and rear tints) for £400 fully comp...oh and it will do 50mpg...

As has already been said, NHB refers to the colour - Night Hawk Black. Coming to end of the life of the EP3 CTR Honda released an end of build edition that came to be known as the Premier Edition. It had Momo stamped on the steering wheel, Recaro seats, red interior carpet, privacy glass and a 'Type R' logo on the front calipers. Basically it was what you would've got had it been a JDM model, except for the LSD and 220BHP engine.

And therein lies the problem with the UK EP3...no LSD and no 220bhp.
Had one after my Scoob and couldn't get along with it after the novelty of VTEC had worn off ( managed 12 months), so got a FRS instead.

I agree. It is frustrating to say the least. Especially as the JDM engine is substantially different to the UK spec engine as well. Fitting a Quaife ATB diff and a maybe a Gruppe M and/or KPro will soon see a few extra horses liberated though, and that's even before an exhaust change. Honda should have just given us the 'full blooded' version to begin with though.

I can't see why Honda wouldn't do it, aren't the UK and JDM cars both made and assembled in Swindon?

And why couldn't we have the Championship White too...
