My father is into caravans, and is looking for a new towing vehicle, he has been given a good offer on a new long wheel base Shogun, the price is dropped due to new shape coming out i believe. I fecking hate 4x4's but he is adamant he is getting another. So does anybody have any experience of them, good - bad, either or?

 

Had a 98 plate for a year, excellent towing vehicle but mpg is not too great when towing at 70 ish.
With this age, avoid the 2.5 diesel engine, the 2.8 is a must !! I believe the newer version 2000> ? has a much better driving position and performance but reliability is not quite as good.
