Default 206GTI rear axle bearings

what are they and are they costly to fix??

hi m8 i used to have a 206 gti and this happened to mine apparently theyr'e little bearings in between the torsion bar and radius arm if i can remember,when it went it caused a knock from the rear.

yeah thats what ive got! the garage is saying approx 6hrs to do it!!!!!

that's not bad mate mine was off road for 3 days partly because peugeot gave me the wrong bearing!!! some people said just to buy a new axel,they said mine was worse cos it had 18" wheels.

i have just bought a new axle from a breakers, complete axle with discs etc for £180 delivered! it will only take them a couple of hours to fit it to!

defo easier to buy new axle because if they have been worn for a while it can cause rear axle ends or swinging arm to wear was well common on pugs when i worked there when 405 and 205 were still being sold new!

saw your post on the 206info forum

did you check the bearings on the axle you bought as they might be on there last legs?

not got the axle yet should be monday! it has got a 3 month warrenty with it though!

Rear axle is the way to go if you dont want continued issues with squeeks etc. Its the same ol problem with Pugs and Citreons.

They do also do a axle kit per wheel, £35ish. Though you end up doing the axle eventually. I was trying to remember the cost of a new one.
