rear floor thats no big problem on a disco new panel from landrover is under £100, 300tdi disco would be better option, watch out for excessive transfer gear noise, rear sunroofs leak on both 200 and 300tdi and go for a manual the auto's are heavy on fuel, had a few in the past and will defo stand some abuse, engines normally bullet proof

there is a real interesting artical in the December Landrover Enthusiast mag on buying Jap imports. Tend to be well maintained and in good condition, few companies shipping them back into the UK for resale.

I'm thinking of doing the same - but have been put off by all the tales of misery with Discovery's. Then thought about a Pajero but then they seem to have their fair share of problems too.

I am in the same situation. need a 4 x4. Going to see a late isuzu trooper soon. Seen a fair few pajeros and the better ones still hold their value as they ar ewell looked after. Very nice to drive. Terranos are a good bet but nothing nice to drive. Discovery 300 tdi are classy but where to find a goodun. So many issues with them.
The dealers of imports want far too much. Ive noticed many on ebay dont sell or reach reserve...so maybe the s/h value will drop soon ??

I need to go and look at some. take the Pajero for example - dealers or pristine ones seem to be advertised at £6000+ but there are plenty on ebay/autotrader for £2000-£4000
Either the dealers are way overpriced or the cheap ones are junk.
