i think 5 is the best and 1 is worse , 1 also means a car is modified as well , it may be the other way around though lol im not 100% , if you do a quick google search "japanese auction grading" you,ll find something....................

Practically grade 5 & 4.5 is as good as you can expect, assuming that youre looking at 5+yr old cars. A more realistic expectation would be a grade 4, for the majority of cars. A grade 3.5 can be a good buy, particularly where the odometer reading is over 100,000kms. Grade 3.5 cars can also be disappointing so you need to look carefully and understand the appraisal. Grade 3 cars are **** and grade 2 are worse. Grade 1 is commonly misunderstood, as above: novices should avoid them on the whole, but there are some very interesting G1 cars to be seen (most drifters for exmple). Interiors are grade from A downwards; I might consider a B from an auction that proveds 3 pictures, with one interior, otherwise Id buy 'A's only. Grade R; RE; A; & O (sometimes with a further number ie: R1) are accident history grades. Some are extremely minor and the carsd are equal to grade 4.5 or 5 cars, but theyre better avoided by the novice (grade *** is crashed unrepaired).
