PMSL, i get funny looks for using indicators in my M3
Enjoy the car, its a hell of a machine, and so so easy to drive
Much fun in the current conditions, especially if you turn the DSC off

I have done nearly 1500 miles in just over 2 weeks, and i have enjoyed every single one of them. It is an absolute gem to drive with the SMG box.
If i want to go really quick, quicker than an M5, i will pick the scoob keys up, but i dont always want to do that, and the M3 fits the bill perfectly.

Mine is a 55 plate, and granted, they dont have the "performance" of many subarus, but straight out of the bag, warranty, etc etc, they are a superb all rounder IMO.

Congratulations on the new car. I apprecaite why you bought it, they really are that good!!
My brother and i did some extensive testing of 05 STI PPP against M3 a while ago. The result was exactly what you would expect really. It is easier to wring out the performance of the scoob to the last few drops, hence the BMW driver really has to be on the ball. However, over and over again on bits of straight and faster turns the M3 had the legs on it to pull away. We found that when following the M3 we were driving the nuts off the scoob to try and keep up on the faster stuff. We did loads of slow rolling side by side stuff up to higher speeds and found that the M3 would be a few car lengths in front by 100, i think that not having to change gear loads of times like in the scoob helps!
Then, sadly the M3 went............
but the new M5 arrived........... whole new ball game!

Love BM's had a 330i from new, but there are a few issues that have been hanging over m3 ownership... not sure how correct this is, but I've heard the engine has had a few problems over time, and BMW have just adjusted there warranty scheme again, with M3's and the like costing £1500 a year ouch...! To me that's madness, and really spoils the ownership experience... but if the lump let go, I've heard of engine repairs at the dealer for the last M5 costing 11k
I got out of all that and now run a normal car...
Do like them though... very nice motor... oddly I had some **** in a new one last week try it on down the slip road... and at the end of the slip road I couldn't make it out in my mirrors wasn't in the sensible car though

Daz, thats why i bought mine at 12 months old, its still got manufacturers warranty, if it goes wrong its their problem, not mine! Currently done 4500 miles in it and loving it, but your right, its not atom quick, nor is it Scooby Wagon quick , but it is an excellent piece of kit IMO.

Very nice congrats - Definately a car I have got to own at some stage. My yearly trip to le-man every year with a couple of mates highlights to me how capable these cars are.
Its not just about the 0-100mph. They are very capable when you drop a cog or 2 at 90mph, whats more you can load then up with 4 grown adults and its don't make any difference to the power. My mate thrashes his M3 within an inch of its life most of the time and it will take it all day long. Other than normal servicing and lots or rear tyres is not let go on him at all. It will still pull really hard at 90mph and let out and almightly raspy exhaust note which sounds glorious when you are following behind. Top cars IMO
