Default Oh **** run for your lifes scoobies

The big bad audi S3 is here with a vengance.

Audi will soon be offering a MTM remap for the audi S3 that wont affect your warranty and gives 306 HP.

However if thats not good enough how does 362hp sound and a top speed of 175mph

Scoobies are done for

And the cost of the modifcation alone will cost the same as a new STI. Audi official tuning isn't exactly cheap.

Why is it fitted with Khan RSV Wheels. Are Audi fitting them as standard ? Looks too similar to the lower spec models.

I don't think anyone can deny that the car in the picture looks mighty tasty. However, I bet that particular car will cost closer to 40k than 30k. If it had the RS4's V8 or an equivalent V6 then maybe it would be worth it, but you are still going to spend a long time explaining why you spent all that cash on a fancy Golf. Usual problem with German performance cars.

Scoobies arent done - the whole point about them is they're fast on a budget. The S3 is fast on a bigger budget...

I don't think the speed will at all scare a cheaper Scooby or Evo, but I think the S3 with modifications could be rather good as an all rounder with ride comfort, refinement, economy, interior that Audis are good at. This is a 2.0T FSI with quattro I presume?

I'd prefer it looking standard rather than chavved up though.

Whats with the grey square on the lower rear panel by the back wheel ?

Would be very suprised if they did the 362 hp / 175 mph version as that would be more powerful than its bigger S4 brother and a faster top end than the RS4, Thought Audi did the capped 155 mph agreement ?

As with most Audi's It looks ok (bit too fussy for me) but IMHO will be overpriced, heavy but it probably will appeall to a different type of person who buys a Scooby.

Sold the Sti and mine is due in January

Weight is 1455 kg slightly lower than an Impreza Sti. Performance from standard car is claimed 60 of 5.9 seconds.

It is one quick car, absolutely loved it on my test drive, but at 29k with a few options it ain't cheap, however the local dealer has 4 to sell in 2007 so am hoping for better residuals than a Scooby!

I think that is where you insert the key in to wind it up

Nice looking car though. But as said, more expensive - although residuals could counter-act that extra up front.

PS what Audi Lover says is slight bollox, that car is the B&B Automobiltechnik test car which has 306bhp as Audi Lover claims. However it is an aftermarket product and not available through Audi. The black square is the B and B logo.

The MTM upgrade claims 310 horses and info is here mtm > News > Soon available for the new Audi S3:. However as they are modifying the DSG system not sure whether to get it down. The S3 is manual only and they might take some time to find the DSG box

lol guess some people didnt see the tongue in cheek humour from me lol.

Yes audi will soon be selling MTM remaps, the S-Tronic (DSG) will need beefing up for the car. The car pictured is a B&B Automobiltechnik, which is a tuning company but they do offer a uprgade to give you 362hp.

Im gonna have a scooby and evo or two before I get mysel a hot audi.

Im guessing this will be an Audi Germany (only) approved remap by MTM like on the old S3, not available (via dealers) and not warranted on UK cars.

Audi are working hard on making a beefier version for the more powerful engines.

Nice looking car. Considering getting an S3 next year. Power output is a problem, but if Audi do start offering remaps under warranty then I might just get one.
Specced one up. With the RS4 seats, and flat bottomed steering wheel, plus a few other choice options, it came to a palm sweaty £30,430.

Plus money on top for a remap. (Audi approved only) as £30k+ without a valid warranty is not an option.

Still waiting to hear about the possible Focus RS 4x4, as I'd prefer one of them. I'll give Ford till the end of 2007 to announce if they'll build one or not. If not, I'll get the Audi. Depreciation on my current Impreza has put me off Subaru for life.

PS. Those Kahn wheels look nice too. Was considering getting a set of RS4's on the S3 too.

I would love a >=5 cylinder turbocharged four wheel drive hatch that handles half decently and is a bit tunable.

The S3 above doesn't really look that different from the lesser A3's though ... does it? For £30k you'd want it to look special.
