If you buy new then the Porsche diesel is cheaper after two years I think; as they depreciate far less, despite being the same car.

both of the above cars are regarded as being the best of that type of vehicle so not see why people want to BS about them ???how ever never seen the point of spending that much on a VW (what a show off I am) the Cayenne however I have sat in at a motor show and I was very impressed, enjoy the test drives

If it was my daughter, you'd be in jail mate. I am not old enough to have a child of consenting age. Trust me, you've just made a **** of yourself

I think it was the transmission that couldn't cope with the 5.0L V10 TDi's torque.

Hope the Q7 with the 6.0L V12 TDi has a stronger box.

Out of the two mentioned I'd have the VW.

Cheers

If you need a decent 4x4 then get a Forester. At least it will work, be eminently serviceable, be better offroad than the VW or Porsche and be cheap to run.

Oh, and you can drive it properly on the road.

I like both, ignore gayaudilover, would probably go for the Porsche with a set of turbo rims and the Bose upgrade.

As far as I know there is no Porsche diesel.

In my opinion you either get a Cayenne Turbo (S)and have it mapped or get the V10 toerag.

VW looks a lot better IMO. I had a brisk ride in v10 Phaeton the other day - monster torque... good plant for a car like that I reckon.

The Porsche is a Porsche, and should hold better money than the VW.

Money no object, I'd go for the Cayenne Turbo S. If I cared about fuel economy (of what there is) though, I'd go for the Toureg V10D. The V10 D is faster than the V8's.

My old man was toying with the idea of getting a Toureg. He didn't want a Diesel because he owned a Diesel Jeep Cherokie years ago and it was ****. I couldn't get it into his head, that the Toureg V10 Diesel was faster than the V8's and returned better mpg. He didn't buy one in the end.

How about a Range Rover Sport? Not as fast as the Porker, but soo much Cooler

Why would you want a ***** cheap jap tin box that is neither a low slung estate or a decently high 4x4 that looks and feels like its made of tinfoil and egg cartons when you could have something that is obviously a class above in terms of quality of materials and build?

V10 W will be faster in a straight line, and the Cayenne will out handle the Forester.

Both the porsche and VW the will be very nice places to sit, with loads of toys. Only downside is that VW dealers are worse than useless.
