Gone and bought a Monaro!
Woohoo, picked up my shiny black spankin new 6.0 Litre Vauxhall Monaro VXR the other day, and all i can say is that its wicked
Lovely car to drive, but having to be a bit careful at the moment, as im running it in, but the power and torque already is immense
Build quality so far appears good, nice black leather interior and all the goodies, bar, sat nav. So im a happy chappie at the mo, just think i need to buy some shares in Shell , i was getting 25 mpg on the runn home on the mootorway, but its dropping drastically now
Any way, ill let ya know how i get on with it as time progresses

I have a 5.7 54 plate model and am very happy with it, i use it more than my scoob to be honest as i just find it more driveable every day. I am getting around 23mpg out of mine and it has done 12k miles.
Enjoy, i am sure you will..

Thanks guys, yeah i should have said a Holden shouldnt i, but i think Vauxhall have really turned around just lately.
Yes, they have stopped making them, i think there are a few left in the country, but when theyve gone, theyve gone.
The sound is quite discreet really considering the size of the engine, a nice V8 rumble though and induction roar, but could be made nicer with a Wortec exhaust and re-map
Ill get some pics up as soon as.......

Theres a guy who's just bought a Silver one, round the corner from me. They do look quite smart. Not sure I'd buy one though.
But, what ever tickles your pickle

Yep , the back seats are moulded for two, and very nice they are to, albeit not totally practical for a family.
MPGs are dropping now, down to 18mpg and falling fast , but the runs are amazing, at 1900rpm in 6th im doing 80mph.
More news on my VAUXHALL ownership and pics to fo;;ow in due course

Awesome car
Have only seen one Monaro on the road and it looked really good.
Could be the replacement for my Impreza when the time comes to sell the old girl
Still need pics though!!!!

If you want an excuse for a run out on Thursday night, then come to the SMACS meet near Wilmslow and take me out for a spin .
Definately my next car after the scooby.

There was one parked next to my Astra VXR when I went to pick it up, had a nose around it, and thought its a fanstastic car.
Just a little more than I was spending at the time, but certainly a car im going to try in the near future.
There's a pretty good site for VXR's here http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/vxr/flash/index_main.html looks really good.

They were 100% developed in Australia by Holden and then picked up by Pontiac for the US market.
