So how many of us RS owners would consider a scooby......?

me, unfortunately !
As i have about 7k to spend after selling my saf, which was great fun , but a bit tired.
I'd much prefer an Essy Cos cos i know any subaru this side of 15k aint gonna give me the same rush as my old 5k saf! But alas funds limit my options.
Could be 1995/6 STi which although nice is no Cosworth.

But i still love my 400+bhp cossie with over 412ftlbs of torque,i have been in scooby's and to be honest, quick of the mark, but short lived, but havn't had the plesure to drive an Evo 5/6 so i can't comment on that

Also Dingy "what planet you on!! Goes round the track faster than 500+bhp" i like to say that Shaggy's car is about 340bhp with your "NF" octane booster, what i'm saying is who's 500+ bhp cossie did it beat! i bet it wasn't the Reyland Escort, it might have a chance with a 2rwd in the corners but definetly not on the straights, sorry to say

The boring straights are only there to get you to the next fun corner
If all it does is go fast in a line, take up train spotting, very fast in a line is a train heheheheheh

Hi all henry fans & scoobyites.
As a regular visitor to norfolk rsoc and also being in a position to comment I have the following to say:-
# P1 all the mags say the ultimate road impreza - over mixed roads NOT TRACK not much standard or modded of any make can keep up.
# 22B **** me what a let down, I had a hard-on as I got into one. After a few a-b miles I couldn't wait to get out. I'm sure this is the ultimate smooth tarmac impreza and very we built.
# Escort cozzie by far the best looking (even after all these years) rally bred road car
# saphire looks (well people in glass houses and all that) score= z-. But very quick in a straight line and not too bad around the twisties.
(so this us why I turned down a 22b and get my p1 on tuesday - can't wait!)
They are all great cars very equal just some more great or equal (depending on what your after) than others. From my day to day driving around east anglia the impreza's superior handling would by far out weigh the cozzie power potential but this is not a pissing contest I love both.

If I was to ever buy a Scooby, it would have to be an older model, as the new ones just look so damn ugly! Lookking through some fo the posts on here, and it seems most Scooby owners agree the new one looks ugly as well. Then there is all the $hit about people getting them stolen at knife point or gun point. Make s you wonder if it's worth it sometimes.

if shaggy car has more power than 340 bhp it would send the conrod threw the side of the block they are the weakest link on the scooby
as you know 1.5 bar off boost = 340 bhp on a scooby, and it would have to be on 102 ron Nuff Said

Oy Bally,
Just you wait until next season mate
1972 Mk1 'Scort Race car Vs 1988 Pug 205 Sprint car ....Heee heee heee
You might have the traction (seeing you drive that MK1 that's not actually true !) BUT we'll have the power
Oh yeah ~ bring it on
Mark

I know of 2.2 imprezas getting 430bhp on 1.2 bar, so how you get 340 from 1.4 I dont know.
Have to agree that the 22B is the one to have, but to say it should be dismissed cos of its a/b as opposed to track ability is foolish.
If you are going to spend 30k on a car surely you can fork out £500 on the shocks, cos that is the only thing which puts the p1 above the 22B on uk b roads.
On track in standard guise there is simply no competition.
