Boxster S without PSM - does it have any traction control?
As title, 2003 Boxster S 3.2 without PSM. Is there any kind of traction control and PSM is just ESP - ie wheel braking?

My 986 had PSM and if you turned it off you had nothing to help you, so I assume if you dont spec PSM you get nothing? I know on cars that dont have it there is no switch and also lots of stories on boxa.net of cars without PSM ending up in the scenery..

PSM must now be standard fit as if you go onto Porshce.co.uk spec either a 987 or 987S they both say "Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with ABS, ASR, ABD and MSR" in the standard features and there is no option for PSM when you build the car. So there is the answer. But, AFAIK on the 986 it was an option, was on mine anyway.

Tough choice I would say?
I do like the Z and you can get nice turbo conversions for it Not that she would prob want that

I'm pushing her towards a 2.5 WRX, as RWD and Scotland doesn't work for half the year.
I loved the 350Z, felt very close to the M3 on performance, better brakes and noise. Still had that heavy feel though.
Tried to get tests in Golf GTI and Astra VXR, but no one has demos available. Focus ST was nice, but mpg was worse than a Scooby and it looked a bit plastic infested outside.
I tried to foist her into a Ford 130 TDCI, but she wasn't having any of it. I thought she would like the torque, but she wanted to rev it out and kept complaining that it got to the rev limiter too quick.
Mondeo 155 2.2 TDCI was a superb all round boring car though.
Then she goes on about having another Puma, but they are a bit small, unrefined and a bit old now.
She sounds more undecided about cars than I am.
I think a new WRX from Motorpoint for £15k plus an intercooler, part exhaust and remap would be unbeatable.
She's just got her first management position and deserves a nice car as she works hard

Problem is, you'll proably end up walking away with a Spec C or type 25!!

986 with PSM is very very good in the snow, driven mine at quite "decent" speeds in serious snow and I think if you were to drive it carefully in the snow it would be almost uncrashable.
