Default Recommend me a 6K car

Hi, first post here and I need some recommendations. I'm about to buy a second car for me, the Mrs has the 51 golf gti (red i) so I want a quicker car. I've been looking at the following cars:

Clio 172 Cup
Celica GT Four
Supra Twin Turbo
Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo
Honda Integra Type-R
Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo

These are the cars which are reasonable insurance for me, scoobys, evos, cosworths, Pulsars and RX-7s are all about £1000 for me to insure so they're a no no. So I have about 6k to spend, which car should I get out of those, or are there any others you'd recommend? I don't wanna go too old ideally, thats why the clio is top of the list.

Have a look in the insurance section for decent companies to try. A-Plan for example

Skyline insurance was even more than the rx-7 which was the most expensive out of all the cars I mentioned. Shame cause they're a nice car. There's a Supra TT on autotrader now for 6.4k:

I voted Integra, I've got one that I paid ~6k for. It's been excellent, had it a year and insurance is fine (600 FC, no claims protected, just turned 24)

If you do a lot of motorway work I probably wouldn't get the Integra, just too noisy at 80+.

Just recently picked up an 52 reg Clio Cup for the missus, 19,700 miles, FRSH £6500.

I have an STi Type R... and dare I say, I had more fun this weekend, blatting around the countryside in the Clio... Its nowhere near as fast as my Scoob, but for the fun factor... the Clio has it Im afraid to say!

Bare in mind that the GT4 is very very thirsty.

I had one last summer and i was shocked at the amount it would go through even after my scoob.

I would never ever buy one again after that experience.

Makes me feel sick just thinking about it

The GT4 is a good choice but thirsty like Turbo Dave has said.

Still good cars though, I wouldn't change mine for anything at the moment.

Clio or Integra.

I chose a 10k Clio but still hanker after a Teg. Nothing in it between them apart from the Teg will be a bit older and a bit limp until 6k revs.

well thats the wierd thing, supra twin turbo was like £490 FC, the scooby 2000 turbo was £730 FC.

Anyway the Mrs decided we couldn't afford 6k so I've been limited to 4k-5k tops. Been looking at the Fiat Coupe 20V turbo and pulsar. Any other suggestions? Thanks

If you go for a Fiat make sure it has had the cam belt/chain done as it is an engine out job , similarly with the pulsar make sure the clutch is ok as again it is an engine and gearbox out job .

GT-Four returns about 24mpg on a average cycle... not that bad for a 250bhp car

I decided to get the Clio Cup, a 52 plate, 28,000 miles full mot, frsh, and tax for £6795. Thanks for the input. I think I would have liked the integra, but a nice one is about 8k then about £800 to insure, maybe next time.

Only 1 correct answer - Integra

Everyone else is clearly wrong or kidding themselves
