Might be possible, you can get 300bhp by sticking a JRSC on it at low boost. Dont know how long the engine would last at higher boost, or if it would give 400 bhp!

Dunno on 1/4 mile. Although I owned a CTR, only reason I know about the 300 low boost thing is I was shown the dyno graphs by the company that sticks CTR engines into Elises

You'll get 300bhp with a supercharger but I very much doubt you'll get 400bhp from charging. It could be done through turbo charging but f*ck me the engine would be stressed. I think its more likely to be pub talk and either way probably a pointless car. I've seen a s/c ctr at crail and he was trapping at 108-111mph which was pretty impressive - fast when rolling

Who? I can't remember the times the s/c one was running but I doubt in the 12s. Probably mid-low 13s. The problem being traction of course. A 400bhp CTR - especially a turbo one - would be even worse and would likely have traction issues even in 3rd gear in the dry. I guess running slicks with a good driver it would get into the 12s but I doubt consistantly.

Big power FWDs usually get excellent trap speeds which indicitive of their performance on the roll but good ETs depend quite a lot on the 60ft time and for that you need traction.

FWIW a genuine 400bhp CTR would murder most scoobys once traction advantage was out of the question. In short if you have a 12.9s scooby and go for a bypass jaunt then you'll get creamed IF he has that power he claims. We are talking of a 60-100mph time in 4.5 to 5 seconds (i.e. enough to beat an M5, RS6, etc)

I saw a supercharged one run at Elvington last year, only managed a high 14.

Once you supercharge a car like that it really comes down to the driver. My s2000 was running high 13s the day the s/c civic was there and I was confident he'd beat me.

Round certain tracks a 400bhp ctr will beat a 400bhp (or even a 450bhp) scooby. But over a 1/4er mile or normal 'road' twisties my money is on the scooby. Take him on I say - if you have a 400+bhp scooby and get beaten by a civic then tip your hat in respect because that is some serious modding and some excellent driving

I agree with previous comments though - 400bhp in a fwd is pretty daft and pretty pointless.
