A mates looking at a 40k miles 2001 M5, any idea on prices/ what to look out for? (it's at a dealers/ not main dealers btw)

20k If it's in V good condition.

Does it have Comm's pack, Sat Nav n bits as these are easier to resell.
Is it on original clutch? They vary in life from 40k to 90k..
Any Vanos Probs?
Has the MAF's been changed?
FBMWSH?
Warranty?

I'm selling my 2000 M5 at the moment with 83000 Miles for 16500, only because I'm upsizing my house and funds are required.

It's an amazing engine

 

I looked at these and was put off by the earlier cars having a reputation for burning massive quantities of oil. 1ltr per 1000 miles isn't uncommon. It wasn't just expense that put me off but the paranioa I might let in run dry by accident. Don't want to be checking the oil all the time or in the middle of a long journey.

 

Well he's gone and bought 1 - seemed to be a bit dear, i did show some prices of private sale cars with same spec for £13k > he paid quite a bit more?

It does have sat nav/ phone/ tracker/ xenons/ etc, full BMW history (not sure about clutch (is it true these are £1k to replace as flywheel has to be done as well?)
How does he find out about vanos probs (dealer service database?)
He doesn't know if it has angel eyes (he's picking it up later tonight) - are these standard?
