Default 944 Service - Which oil

Its time to service the 944 and I am not certain which oil I should be using.

Mineral oil, semi synth, fully synth and their which spec?

The car's detailled below. I should point out I have no manual for the car and have found nothing useful using other on-line resources;

1987 944 2.5 L engine (non-turbo) with 36,000 miles on it.

Car is garaged during winter months and only really will be used during spring, summer and early autumn to cover less than 6000 sunday afternoon miles.

Can someone offer their advice please... Davy Boy????

TT

I used to own a 1989 944 Lux 2.7 ten years ago. The OPC who serviced it always used to use Esso Ultra semi-synthetic. My father who owns the car now has used this oil ever since, with zero in the way of problems.

I'd go for a 10/40 semi and change it every 3k. Your engine was designed over 15 years ago when oils such as Duckhams QXR were an alternative to Mobil1.Oils have moved on a lot so i wouldn't waste my money
