I have been doing loads of motorway miles recently and at 85-90mph it sits at about 4300ish rpm and the noise can get to you after doing about 600miles a week. So not knowing much about gearboxs and how they work is it possible to change the 5th Gear to like one with a taller gear ? I know It will lose accleration in 5th but 1st-4th gets you to silly speeds anyway.

So what can be done ?

cant you just put a silencer on to take away the motorway drone??

 

Well its more of the engine noise, being at high revs all the time

not worth doing to be honest! they arent really a motorway car! back lane motor, revs and gears! just have to put up with it im afraid! or get a 306 gti6 fit!
