I would like to know how they got it on the flatbed without ripping off the front bumper/splitter - as it only has 1" ground clearance at the front.

Take a look at the rear edge of the flatbed, it has built in rollers(wheels). The bed actuially slides back and off the truck onto the ground via hydralics(sp), the car is then secured to the bed and the bed slides back onto the truck.

Job done.

I saw an F40 on a flat bad exactly like that at apex corner in mill hill heading north on to the M1.

It was some time last week, possibly saturday.

Surely there can't have been two.

wonder where it was going.

I had a Volvo T5 on R wheels lowered 40mm and my stock bumper caught on one of those flat beds - the ****** opperating the truck said 'it be right youth, you can hardly see that scratch'.

So that Ferrari driver / owner is brave!

Depends on the type i suppose.

Recently took delivery of several super/hyper cars for an event, all delivered this way - on 'covered' versions so assuming thay work the same.

Yep I know (used to own one )...but the angle and height is still too great for most exoctica

Even Aston Martin's own custom bodied transporter grounds the centre pipes and cats on the Aston Martin Vantage/Virage, and thats with using extra ramp blocks to help raise it a bit.

I saw an F40 parked prominently for sale at the British GT race at Silverstone at the weekend, tasty looking car. No price on it though !

Also saw one of the new 612's which is much better looking in the flesh than in the magazines, I even think there might just be room for two adults in the back !

Ali

I had delivered (on two different occaisions by several differnt companies but using pretty much the same rig just a covered version) an Enzo, BMW works m3 touring car, two 430's, Porsche Carrera GT + 1980's F1 car Aston DB9 GT3RS assorted others without problem, Not sure if it was completely flat and i think it had ramps as well but never the less they delivered this lot without problems.
