Old shape Ka ???
I am currently selling my Skoda Fabia vRS. I have no idea what I want to replace the car, so I was going to buy a 3/4 year old ka for 6-12 months. I have always quite liked them but obviously they are more suited to a first time driver and thus i have never owned one. But I figure I can run something quirky until the right car comes along.
KA's are now £5-6k new, which is having a major knock on effect and subsequently £2000 buys you a 30000 mile minter. Anyone know what they are like - any experiences etc ???

we have a 2000 on a W that we have had from a year old with 13k on the clock.
It has now done 40k and has been an excellent car to us. Wear on the bushes is something to look for as that seems to be a inherent(sp) problem with the cars.

Quite quick down the lanes but not very good cruising on the motorway due to only having an old 60bhp pushrod engine, no room in the back, very little boot (see pic below). Get a later model ('00 on I think) with vented front brakes if you drive enthusiasticaly

51 plate, 26k bought a year old.
We have a Collection (colour coded bumpers) and the previous owner added Ford 14" alloy wheels and air conditioning. I have also added a Sony 6-disc changer to the standard stereo. So the car handles better, is cool in the summer and you have the tunes you need
Minor yearly service was £120 at the main dealer, and the Major service (due every three years) was £180.
Group 3 insurance, cheap to maintain and good on fuel (30-45mpg depending on driving style). Light clutch and smooth gear changes make it a good drive, but the standard brakes can be scary. Power steering is lighter than my old mk2 Golf GTI 8v, but heavier (in a good way) than my Forester!!
Nippy enough around town, and it will do 80-90mph on the motorway (not that you need to as there is a 70 mph speed limit in the UK
)
When I get a new job, I plan to sell this for something more interesting, but would expect closer to £3k due to low mileage, full history and the extras.
