Default escort wiring diagram

does anyone know where i can get a wiring diagram for a 1994 escort 1.6 ghia online?

also i am trying to change my factory fitted radio to a cd player and when i try to connect the speakers they dont work(the wire seems thinner than on the cd player) can anyone help?
any help would be appreciated.

Can't help directly, but from memory, the speaker wires are pairs of the form (colour)+white stripe, (colour)+black stripe, and there should be four pairs.

I think the speakers are all on one of the connector blocks to the FF head unit.

Some high spec Escorts had a sepreate power amplifier for the speakers under the dash right behind the glove box...pop your head under...if it has one you'll need to remove the amplifier and run some wires for the speakers from the head unit to the connector for the power amp.

try, stereo wiring - car wiring

green - yellow/green
green/black - white/green
purple - yellow/red
purple/black - whire/red
white - yellow/black
white/black - white/black
grey - yellow/ (oops forgot, but only 2 speaker wires left)
grey/black - white/ the 1 left

red - yellow
yellow- red
black - brown

the one/two wires left are for the electric aerial / illumination
on the stereo orange is illum and blue is elec aerial

also check for any earths present at the speaker wires incase of a short, this will stop any sound playing, and could (if it hasnt already) damage the on board amp/power ic
