Default Fiat Coupe

Hi all

Need help. A friend has just purchased (from a family member) a 16v N/A Fiat Coupe. He broke down on the motorway yesterday and the Fiat dealer have said that the oil pump failed and it needs a new engine!!

The £4500 they have quoted has scared him to death so I wondered if anyone knows of any Fiat specialists that could sort him out with a more thorough diagnosis and/or a recon engine (supply and fit).

He is based in Maidenhead and the car is at Thames Fiat in Slough, Berkshire.

Over to the unlimited knowledge of ScoobyNet

Thanks in advance
Ian

There's a forum for Bangle's first abortion here :

Just don't mention Scoobys, they're a sensitive bunch
Sounds a bit of an expensive repair for what is essentially a Tipo engine !

Agreed, get on FCCUK forums and have a look. Do not give a FIAT dealer £4,500 pounds under any circumstances.

Try some of these for prices....

They really do know their stuff down there. Be warned that they may not be that cheap though.

No problem Ian I just feel guilty for partly being involved with it It's a shame that Wayne didn't sort Jon out a long time ago and still seems to be messing about I know it's not your fault in any way

That was also fitted in turbo form to the Integrale, sounds so much better, anyway Bangle's bit was superb, its just the Fiat element that is a bit wonky. As for not mentioning Scoobies, why not, they arent that sensitive about them, the Fiat is Lovely looking but crap wheras the Subaru is very capable but an ugly ******, a hybrid would be a nice car, Subaru running gear and Coupe looks, the other way round, jesus.

By the way, I have just got rid of mine as I couldnt stand the feeling of impending financial ruin every time i used it !
