Question Vauxhall Carlton 3000 gsi 24 valve - where from?

Hi

I'm now on the lookout for a Vauxhall Carlton 3000 gsi 24 valve Manual in either Red or metallic black. I've done the usual autotrader, adtrader, ebay, exchange & mart, cav-web & migweb searches but not found one yet

Does anyone know of one for sale please? Can everyone keep an eye out for a good one please?

Where else should I be looking please?

Thanks in advance for your help hopefully I'll be grinning behind the wheel of a proper rear drive machine soon

The car must be a minter & I have cash waiting for a late model

Thanks

Have you driven one ?

Fun, but very heavy, not exactly darty and getting the tail out can be, errr, fun.

Also had an Opel Monza GSE 3.0, similar car but a fastback. 2 Tonnes sliding sideways certainly focus's your thinking.

Found Manta's more agile.

Hi

Yes I'm still looking but now I'm serious Hopefully it won't be too long and I'll have a decent example

Did you see my thread about a meet in Southern?

I owned a 12 valve gsi over the winter and it was the best handling rear drive car I have driven You don't notice the weight and size and it actually seems very nimble.

As for getting the tail out that's what it's all about I used to be able to hang the tail out on my 12 valve at every bend in the wet on the slippery roads and get it back with ease every time

I used to have Mantas but they don't have an lsd

is he having a giraffe that's alot of money for one of those especially considering the mileage, I'd expect to pay that much for a low mileage model

Hi Ian

That went yesterday to the first guy who looked at it It was a lovely car but you know me and rear wheel drive

I've been after one of these for years and owning the 12 valve earlier this year proved it.

I got into the final 6,but failed to make the final 3.
Sour grapes or not, I did a pretty much identical run but dropped 30 points for no apparent reason. Nevermind though, I dont care cos I learnt another drift technique. I am now the master of the "Lift off" and was using it throughout the national touring car circuit
Which should be handy for Trax next weekend
