Question spax kit on a zetec s

My wee brother is the proud owner of a 52 plate fiesta zetec s.

Last week he purchased a spax lowering kit (springs and shocks) and fitted them to the car.

When he was finished he went out for a drive to feel the difference the kit had made and heard a faint ticking noise from the rear of the car .

He checked that every thing was tight and sitting properly which it was and the noise is still there.

He got halfords to contact spax and their answer was "Check that the fitting is ok".

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

Brake lines - are they clearing the suspension etc,
Handbrake cable
Exhaust/exhaust mounts

Check over them all ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE

Have a look at the brackets that hold the roll bar on, my si snaps these all the time!

Failing that, try www.fiestaturbo.com

until very recently I had a zetec-s!
The thing about them is to make sure he has the correct lowering kit, I know it sounds obvious but a lot of dealers sell the standard 1.25 kit as a Zetec-s kit not knowing the ZS is 10mm lower than a 1.25 so there is compatibility problems

I recommend www.zsoc.com as a good site to join

Bet its the top mount of the rear suspension legs they are crap they start going after a while they are about 10 quid each.

They will start knocking slightly and gradually get worse.

Another think it could be is the springs are not sitting correctly.

Rear bushes are said to be a bit crap - but that's generally on the phase 1 Zetec-S's.

How does he rate the handling now (i have one too )
