Smile My new Mustang

Some of you guys have been following my progress in getting my 69 Mach1 Mustang. So i thought i would show you some real photos of the car. It is almost done and ready for colection.

I am having a Lip spoiler put on and some BF Goodridge tyres.

Tell me what you think?

I will get better photos when i collect it.

Cool
Is it a GT350?
Would have been better in "Bullitt" green

You can only do the green on a 68 like in the film. This is a 69, very diffrent car and as such i went for black. It is not a GT350. It is a Mach1 with a 351 ci V8. (5.7litres)

Still f**kin' cool tho'
What are the 7-litre BOSS Mustangs all about then?
PS: isn't 5.7 litres a "small block" in US terms?

As far as small block goes i think the 281's are the small block. they come in at just under 5 liters.

There were some crazy mustangs in the 70's which pushed out crazy amounts of BHP for cars in that era.

Nice looking motor - '69 was a good year - though personally I'd lose the bonnet pins as that spoils the clean lines. I think 351 cu is the top end of the small block type engine, though quite big enough for the real world....

I think i will keep the pins in because they are an original feature of the car, and i want to keep it as genuine as possible. I think they give it a bit of character.

Fantastic.

Is it the 351 Cleveland lump, if so that was the engine that went into the first De Tomaso Panteras.

Default 71 Mach 1 with a cobra jet 351 cu

I had a 1971 Mach 1 with a 351 cu Cobra Jet engine, it had 4 on the floor ( four speed manual box) not sure what BHP it put out, but I put it on a rolling road with a garage owner for a bet, he said it would not more than 250 BHP, his rolling road went up to 450 and he had just had it serviced and calibrated, i put it in second and floored it, his rolling road had a big dial showing BHP at the wheels, the needle went straight to the end stop and I broke his machine ! It did about 10 miles to the gallon and 1 set of rear tyres a month
