Thumbs up Bentley GT Coupe!!!!!!!!!!

Had a tussle with one today in my Nova......YES NOVA, seriously was on a 60 mph stretch and it was a shame to hold him up, so I pulled in and let him pass, that engine note, what can one say WOW, what a beautiful set of wheels, not sure does it have a 5.5 ltr turbo charged engine?? Had never seen one in the flesh, this car is so beautiful, I WANT ONE
Cheers

Guess who actually had a drive in one today?

6.0 W12 twin turbo

awesome, no lag, instant power, instant grip.
And the biggest effin brakes I've ever seen (as big as the alloys on my scoob - 18") on a car.

Sounds a bit like a v8, gearbox is probably the best auto I've come across so far (previously my faviourite autobox was in an Audi quattro..oh, hold on...guess what? it's probably a newer beefed up version of the same drive train)

Saw Victoria Beckham in her new GT a couple of weeks back - stunning looking car (couldn't care less about Mrs B, but I'd take the car )

You Crewe way then Scoobyslammed?

There's a new section of the A500 and you often see various Bentleys out on garage plates for a test. They look stunning

It looks like an overgrown Rover 75 to me

No road presence.

I was behind one here in West Sussex. Have to say that I agree regarding lack of road presence.

However, last night a Black Diablo came up behind me and then overtook. I wound the window down to have a listen, but I wish I hadn't ! DAMN they're loud !!!

But that DID have a presence

You are kidding aren't you. I had one behind me the other day and the one thing it had in abundance was road presence. It looked HUGE in the rear view mirror. Not the prettiest car but certainly imposing.

I agree about the styling. It's quite uninspirational IMO. But then again you don't really want a Bently to have in your face looks. But it's looks are mistakeble for other marques.

One thing that got me was the interior, it seems to have lost that aristocrial Britishness that the old Continentals or Azures had. You could easily be inside a much cheaper Jag, Pheaton, or Merc CL.

Friend of mine is part of the service crew for them, regularly over in Germany with them etc. Has to drive them over which I can imagine is such a chore He rates the cars actually but hes a biker at heart so he's prolly not the best man to compare motors with.

I dunno.. I quite like the direction that Rolls Royce have taken.. with their "I don't own the road, I own the county.. get out of my way" looks.

And I've said it before.. but come on.. a PLASTIC grille on a Bentley ? Oh dear

not a bad car just not a great car i worked with one of the test drivers from germany and was told that the car is caplable of over 245mph but the gear box cant handle the speed and blow up. have spoken to several of the dealers and almost all of them have faults from the factory but get sorted as part of the pdi. must agree it so looks like a rover 75 and as for that spoiler that pops up in on the rear it just spoiles the back of the car

That's odd, I was told as part of the tour of the factory that they test all the components as they fit them, and it's all to VAG standards which are far better than Bentley's old standards blah blah etc..

I was tempted to ask for a shovel at the time 'cos the BS was piling up a bit by then
