Question uk Civic Type R

waiting for my brand new ctr and said goodbye to the Legacy GTB. so some tuning questions.
anyone had an lsd fitted to the uk version? will this sort out the steering?
looking at spoon as an option for this. also what about adjustable suspension, thinking maybe koni or kw as they are both reasonable price compared to jap tuners, any comments or experience?
last of all is the carbon bonnet, how much is a Buddy Club carbon bonnet?
cheers Tim

after owning two jdm's I wouldn't touch another + I get 3 years warranty and the Honda garage is a 10 minute walk from my house. I've got the new Cosmic Grey, but the white is cool I must agree. Wicked kit have one for sale at silly money 3 years old and asking 16K - do me a favour.
cheers Tim

I've already owned a uk model so i wouldn't buy another one, it does look good in grey though. If i was looking for another one i would go jdm there are plenty available at the auctions out there, nowheres near that price even fully imported and all duties paid

sb, that's true and very tempting, however in my experience the problem is when you come to sell. nobody wants them and the retail value is very hard to predict, you can nend up losing a lot more that you save.

The steering issue is simply due to the electric PAS system lacking feel and an LSD will not make any difference there!

The Spoon LSD is noisey, and needs rebuilding after a set amount mileage IIRC, but plenty of other makes available, Speed Inc, Mugen or Quaife do one IIRC.

For suspension you can't go wrong with the German stuff, or for the Jap, Cusco.

Synchro Motorsport as the people who prep the Honda BTCC car have several brand new JDM gearboxes with LSD's for sale at £1200 each.
Details here: http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/phpbb2/...ic.php?t=25745 but you have to register to see the info

Thumbs up

thansk for all the info, I suspected that there where a number of options including Quaife. I also seemed to be heading towards the German adjustable sus. Koni or KW. Getting excited as it's only three weeks for the new motor. i-vtec will make a change to twin turbo's and 4 wheel drive.
