Nissan 300 ZX twin turbo
What's the story with these? Any good? I'm sure they're fast but dynamically how good are they? Are they a bit heavy for fun cornering etc.?
Anyone got any uk interior pics?

Hello mate
Dynamically they're good
Not fast in standard form,
very unreliable compared to other Japanese 'Supercars'
Sadly they're a part of the chav's/ricer's car ladder nowadays.

I test drove a few when i sold my scoob but deciding to go for another 200sx instead. The 300 is bloody fast (even in standard form) .... but it just didn't seem as much fun to throw around. Parts aren't too bad (available from breakers), but reliability isn't really that good for a Jap car. I guess the reliability is a worthy sacrifice when you consider how much car you get for your money.

Bro-in-law has 1, 5k gets you an average one on about a H/J plate. Twin turbo is fast standard, 0-60 isnt brilliant (compared to scoob) but 50mph+ they are awesome.
As said, there are alot of reliability issues, but 300+bhp thru the rear wheels is fun. Wouldnt wanna race anything thru the twisties mind, could get kinda hairy!

I've got an L reg UK one.
Dynamically they are very good, the twin turbo version is very fast - hardly any lag. They have 2 tiny turbos instead of 1 big one to spool up quicker.
Twisties aren't good with a RWD car. Back end is very tail happy and will step out quite readily. That said, they grip the road better than most. I've driven round a particular corner near home and the other half says that it feels more "planted" on the road than his Scooby.
Absolutely stunning in getting people out of your way when you suddenly appear behind them.
There's a few pictures here : http://www.5ive-o.com/web/viewtopic.php?t=3005. Failing that, the site listed above will have no end of advice and pictures.

Had one for a month whilst selling it.
A rare two seater with an induction kit and a phat Jap exhaust.
Stupidly quick and dangerous round the bends, unless youve mastered drifting.
Interior is a bit dated now although high tech dash/heater controls (a bit fiddly).
Targa tops a big bonus although I probably wouldnt have bothered with them after a few months (luckily I had it for the two weeks of sunshine in that year).
Reliability could be a bit of a concern though ,so much packed under the bonnet, and dosent matter how cheep ,one major part failing (even some of the poxy little things)and you could be paying as much as the car cost in parts and labour.
This one was quicker than most scoobs(in the dry,on a straight road, not too much traffic).
Dont bother with an Auto its crap.

If your talking twin turbo 92> Then 'RESPECT'.
Had one for a week (sold instantly)
Only auto car that has **** me up big time.Gear change is amazing.Havent checked a man trans but suspect it would be compared to the reproductive organs of a k9.
Leave the 300zx,save up and get one of these.(you can also torture your mates by making them sit in the back)

I think the exterior of the 300 is gorgeous (I actually prefer its looks over a scoob). Girls love them.
The dubious reliability put me off buying one.
Shame the cars are all getting on now.

Oh and after spending about a grand on blue/cream leather it`s got one of the nicest interiors I`ve seen in a ZX too!

If you get a decent one to start with then regular maintanance and servicing are worth their weight in gold. www.300zx.co.uk has a myriad of people that will help you save money, gain more experience on the car and do the jobs yourself, if you're of that mind.
