There's a new model SLK out in June/July so I wouldn't pay too much for one at the moment.

The SLK is much fun to drive. The 200 (with Kompressor) goes realy fast for his weight.
It goes about 250km/h, tight corners are good to take...only thing that might be a problem is the inside size,VERY SMALL!

My wife's just bought an SLK 230 Kompressor. I didn't expect to be impressed, but I am. Really pretty quick, handles well, steering light and direct, 6-speed box takes a bit of getting used to but it's short-throw and pleasant to use. Inside space is fine - I'm 5'11" and built like a rugby prop forward (i.e. fat ) and I still didn't feel cramped. It's the roof that makes the car though - peeps' jaws drop when it all folds away quietly Good fun

Id take the boxter or Z4 over the SLK anyday. Merc a bit to limp wristed. But thats only my opinion.

i agree.... had a go in one a short while ago.

strange how the road takes over the steering though ? in that, if the road cambers or is unsettled, the slk will not flatter these imperfections and indeed amplify them ??

All imho though !!

If you have to buy an SLK, get a used 320 with the auto 'box.
