See them all the time here, various flavours of C2. The GT looks pretty good in black but it is just the "VTR" in the model range. The french motoring press are reporting that they are going to do a turbo'd version, I'll believe it when I see it.

The C2 GT is the homologation version of a 1.6 16V rally or rallycross car they're producing. I don't think you can get a/c but it does have a proper gearbox.

Evo reviewed it this month and liked it they got it to do 0-60 in 8.5ish and said it went round the twisty’s quite well but the steering felt a bit wooly. I realy do think it looks good, which is turn up for the books because i normaly hate Citroens.

Went and had a look yesterday afternoon.
Nice little car - far removed in terms of quality from citroens of old. Great seats, looks good, getting good reviews. Cracking instruments as well.
The GT differs from the VTR in that it has:
A manual gearbox (the sensodrive was even slated by the dealer)
White 16" alloys
Much better looking front end with proper open grill
A weight reduction of appx 30 kilos
Individial build number plaque - only making 2250 for the road in RHD
But
no aircon
no electric mirrors
no add on side skirts
no front fogs
It is, however, £500 cheaper @ £10,495 otr and can be chipped to 150 bhp in about the time it takes to type this post. 1 years free insurance as well.
Going for a test drive (hopefully) this weekend. Looks like a lot of fun

It does look nice but.............having owned two citroens I can only say one thing...........you will know the service manager on a first name basis and most of the service staff too!!!
not that I'm bitter or twisted about it but Citroens are like the name sounds LEMONS!!!!!
They may have improved but I doubt it very much

I wouldn't have another Citroen as I've had 3, and agree with the post about service managers:
Also notoriously high on insurance compared to similar cars, and Citroen are VERY poor at customer care if you have a problem.
I bought a Xantia off my old boy when he stopped driving. It was 4 years old, but had covered 13000 miles and hadn't been driven for 2 years.
When I filled it with diesel, it p*ssed out from the sender unit, under the back seat.
Talking to the Citroen service manager, I found out that the model suffers from ovality on the sender unit fixings, and it's a known problem.
Even so, Citroen didn't want to know me.
Sure enough, the sender port was 5mm oval on the diameters!
£400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds about right to me........it's typical of the PSA group on the whole good at selling shame about the aftersales!! Sorry to steal the post. Peuegot are slightly better but not by much. I've had my 206 2.0Hdi and on average it's been in the workshop once a month, this year alone it's averaging once a week lol.
Best not to have a french car...........shame coz when they work they are great lil cars

And as long as the warranty is ok, i'm not that bothered about reliability - its going to be a second car for a bit of fun.

Evo tested it against the 106 raylle! They didn't rate it much

Well, here's my thoughts.
Test drove one on Saturday.
What a cracking little car. Have to say that I agree with most of what was written in the evo report.
Steering feedback is the only complaint, but its not bad in isolation, compared to a manually steered 106 Rallye, anything is going to have lack of feedback.
Little bit of torque steer, but to me thats a good thing as you know the front end is working hard.
Great traction, even in the wet. Reasonably refined and didn't feel too slow. Quite torquey as well.
Felt really solid, both on the road and in build.
Evo test was interesting. Citroen was fun, and I know which one I'd rather have an accident in if it all went pear shaped.
Think I might get one.
In Red, of course

The comments above ring so true though, about build quality, reliability etc etc. Citreons are rubbish and more so are the dealers. Give it a year it will rattle like a good un.
I wont even bore you with the problems ive had with a VTR which was bought from new. Never ever again would i buy Citreon.

I'd like to know how to chip my Saxo VTS straight to 150bhp too, seeing as the GT has the same engine (although the GT engine's been de-tuned)
I've driven the C2 VTR, and the paddle shift really isn't too bad, blips on downchanges too Rather have a manual mind you.

Well, I've gone and bought one
And what a cracking little car for the money.
Fast enough in today's traffic - great fun to drive and 40 mpg on the way to work this morning.
Lets hope it holds together

Thinking about getting the VTR as well for the wife. Test drove it Saturday and thought for the money it wasn't too bad. Didn't really mind the Paddleshift either. Obviously prefer my STi7 but hey its for my wife. Interested to know who will chip it to 150bhp??????

I went for the Daihatsu YRV Turbo instead
130 BHP 1.3 0-62 about 8sec Insurance Group 11 Ave town 45MPG
Best in black with tinted windows like mine
Auto shift steer (VERY good) handles VERY WELL for what it is and WILL suprise most cars
Floor it @ a ton and it will drop a gear
Went head to head with my M8(CLIO CUP) @ Santa Pod and WON both times (it's not the power but the way you use it)
Give it a try B4 you buy as you could get it for around 10K i rekon

Chipping
The bloke who has done this apparently rally's a Saxo - seems its a bit more than just a chip - but if I find out then I'll let you know.
