Theoretically, how easy/hard is getting 350bhp from the ubiquitous 1.8T VAG lump?

MBC, 2.0bar and wait for the bang . Serioulsy I dont know never owned one but I would have thought its gonna need a good programmable ecu, intercooler, fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, filter at least.

Speak to Gary Handa AKA MRK_IV

He has a seriously high powered VAG motor

Wink

Jabbasport are the people you want. www.jabbasport.comNo need (and obviously not very wise) to run the 1.8T any where near 2 bar so thats complete b*ll*cks....

Basically they replace the manifold with a custom one of their own design and stick an IHI turbo on then remap to suit and thats enough to get 350hp as long as you start with something thats got twin intercoolers in the first place like a TT/S3/Leon Cupra R.

Any single intercooled car like an A3/Ibiza etc will go to 325hp safely with the same config, limits due to heat.... These would be running about 1.15bar so no engine explosions as mentioned previously. The power gains are produced via much greater throughput turbo and not higher boost.

Since I've jumped the Scooby ship, everything I've read and learnt about the 1.8T engine suggests that its far more reliably capable than the Impreza to 300/350 + bhp tuning.

Still planning on keeping my 4x4 Skud long enough to be able to afford the 350bhp Jabba IHI conversion on it. That will be hilarious as its already fun with 220.

Hence the and the wait for the bang.

You can jump ship all you want but does your ship sound as good as my ship .

Edit to say mine is being fitted with a trans warp drive next week.
