Looks like Mitsubishi has been studying the tuning habits of EVO owners and might be releasing a FQ380 pack before the end of the year!
Yes folks we're looking at 380bhp out of the box, Subaru are you listening?

Maybe a wind up!.... Story goes it will be a very limited
Limited edition price estimate £32,000-34,000 for UK
Not sure if it will be an "offical" import or not with a Rallyart UK performance kit. SVA issues I suppose
Info from Evo owner who speaks Japanese and doesn't want to be named
I am reliably informed earliest release date would be.
Feb 2004
UK Launch?
Will be the last ever Lancer evo 8 model variant!and shock horror no 9 is planned!
Aim is to kill the C Spec dead for sure!

There is a guy at work who runs a modded FQ300 - currently pushing around 400bhp. The car is stupidly quick. He plays with 911 Turbos and will quite happily leave them - it has the most amazing pickup and acceleration of any car I know (bar the RS200, but that's another story ) - simply stunning car. However, you wouldn't want his insurance bill or fuel consumption - it makes a Scoob look like a cheap affordable car!!

Looks like this FQ380 will be a "pack" costing around £4500, you would probably need a FQ300 in the first place. However as the 300 is just a exhaust and filter change (engine side) you could possibly get your dealer to fit those and then upgrade. As it's being released as a pack I wouldn't think there will limited numbers. Should be here by the end of the year - I hope!
I'm still pi$$ed at Subaru for releasing the Sti 8, when I was told at the time the 7 design would be around for a good while. Thanks Subaru!
Goodbye STi UK hello FQ380!

Chris-my Evo VI is hardly any less economical than my MY00 was. I still get over 20 mpg and it's putting out over 380 bhp.
I just have to make more frequent stops at the old filling station, that's all
As for the bolt on extra BHP for £4500, I find it very hard to believe. If the manufacturer was to offer such a kit, they would also uprate the conrods and pistons as Extreme do, for obvious reasons of being able to last longer than the warranty!
