Thumbs up

Hi all

Just had a fairly eventful journey to Belgium in the company VW Golf, its 6 months old BTW,a 1.9TDi.

Hear goes...

I'm cruising along, about 75ish down the M20,when all of a sudden it jumps out of top gear and refuses to re-engage!

things don't improve on leaving the Channel Tunnel service area
when reverse gear decides to go the way of the pear!

but still, onward, ever onward...I(foolishly)decicide to press on,

... 3rd gear 'goes west' at Ghent(starting to really sweat now)

Just 2nd and 4th left,C'mon baby, you know you can do it..

Then a massive traffic jam @ the Kennedy Tunnel, see's 4th gear cry ''enough''

but I'm only 5k's from Antwerp and my final destination...with one precious fwd gear remaining!!

... Frantically rubbing a rabbits foot now...I'm saluting every passing magpie and furiously praying to any superior being thats willing to listen....and eventually,I make it,PHEW!!

Well anyway, one fone call to VW Customer Service.
They arrange for the car to be looked at by the local dealer and 36 hours later its returned to me....new gearbox, new flywheel and no questions asked.
Absolutely fantastic serviceThumbs up to VW.

....only to have someone reverse in to me 2 mins after collecting it
but thats another storyjust thankful that I wasn't in me Scoob!

Jon
