Does any1 know how long our forum is down for? as i have a worry at the moment, my car made 337bhp but the operator said it was startting to detonate what does this mean obvisoluly bad news. He then asked me what fuel i use then he added water all over my intercooler blowing it in using the fan. Is this a fueling issue or heat internaly? should i be looking at water injection or fuel controller?

Det is baically lack of fuel so look at first point would be fuel pump, but have one so i would say fuel comp. Did he say where in the rev range it was starting to det?

drive it off boost or turn the boost down till u know the exact details..............mine was detting at high RPM at 1 bar on standard fuel pump, top mount and standard fuel map.
Now i have front mount, fuel comp and uprated pump. The fuel comp is useful as u can map it to RMP secific points.
SAFC 2 would be a good move..................but drive off boost till then (or turn boost down)

Detonation is a mixture of lack of fuel causing the engine to run weak and the increasing temperature in the cylinder this causes,to a point where the charge will detonate (burns about 10times faster than normal) without a spark being needed to ignite it. He was adding the water to help bring down the inlet charge and reduce the risk of detonation. What fuelling and cooling do you have as it could be a mixture of both, but more likely fuelling.
