Is it me or have Toyota gone a bit pu**y on us?

It just occured to me that with the exception of the Supra which i can only assume is still made in japan but only available on import to us that toyota have gone a bit naff on us?
Back in the good old days the celica and the MR2 were nice pieces of kit! what happened to the turbo's the GT4's? etc etc?
now all they seem to muster at the top end is a 1.8VVT, which is a decent engine so dont get me wrong, but surely they have something for the celica?
Am i wrong? am i missing something? theyre still nice cars, just...wheres the poke gone??
