Not sure, don't think he has NOS...
I didn't get there early enough to hear the announcer say what engine the beast has got, but 600-700bhp...!?!

Just emailed one of the other competitors in Saturday's meeting (a scooby owner himself), and he mentioned the following:
"The Puma should be fast as over £500,000 has been spent on it. It is built of carbon fibre so weighs virtually nothing. It has a Ford RS 200 engine developing some 700+ BHP with four wheel drive."
"Apparently it was having problems with its clutch and its control/hold system which is why it was bogging down on the line nearly every time and why the time of 10.64 was slow - well relatively !!!"
"I was told that it had been tested at Bruntingthorpe the week before and had been clocked at 0 - 150 mph @ 5.5 secs."
"Apparently they are expecting a time for the 1/4 of of some 7 to 8 seconds once it is set up right and Mike gets used to the car which I suppose ought to be realistic."

I happened to be passing by my local sprint on Saturday and stopped for a look, I'm glad I did, cos I saw THE MOST AWESOME car I've ever laid eyes on!!!!!!
A Ford Puma, although barely recognisable, 4wd, between 600-700bhp (the owner was keeping that close to his chest!) and I watched it do the 1/4 mile (curved, not a straight track) in 10.64 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable!!!

I looked at getting a Puma as a second "fun" car, I was put off when I asked the salesman about the scratches on the top of the sills..
I kid-you-not he said "they all get like that - caused by high heels"
I walked away
*not joking either*

Awesome race car, but you can hardly call it a Ford Puma, only in its resemblence in its shell, the rest is pure high race spec, close to a Le Mans car. The site is quoting 1000bhp once setup!
Nice to see what you can do with money.
