Sounds very, very expensive, but the car looks gorgeous

I'd buy it if me ***** came up (oo err Mrs )

Car is not councours (sp) but "as new" with only 6300 miles.

I have always have had a soft spot for these. Got to be worth a couple of grand just for the sound of the V8

Rather pricey, but these are collectable now...

My father in law used to have these as his company car. Absolutely loved them.

We always believed he had bought the last vitesse registered in England - A moonraker blue one on an E plate. It appears that there is another late registered vitesse.

BTW, if anyone knows the location of the blue one mentioned above, please get in touch! All I know is that it was sold to a collector many years ago as a project (new clutch and gearbox)

I beleive there were 1 or 2 F reg Vitesse's around due to a couple of police forces over-buying and keeping them in stock but not registering them until they sold them on.

Ridiculous price Half decent ones go for under 2k, never in anyone's wildest dreams is this worth anything over 7k at the very, very most.

dnb...

The blue Vitesse is living with a collector of Sd's in Llandudno. He as about 4 or 5 garages behind the Branksome Hotel, Lloyd Street in Llandudno. In his collection he also has a twin turbo Sd.

He has been collecting Sd's for many years, once worked on production line too. Really nice bloke, met him when I was there on hols last year and again this year.

I have owned 7 Sd's and like you have a bit of a soft spot for the car.

If you are in Llandudno area, go see him, he is a wealth of knowledge about the cars, and the Vitesse is still in use and immaculate.

My Great uncle has a twin turbo vitesse about 450bhp, He has had this car from new and is imacculate. He is 77 and still drives flat out so watch out anyone messing with a red one in Wolverhampton. Its been timed at 4.2 to 60.

The twin turbo Sd is a one off, the engine was built by a good friend of mine, John Wolf, of Wolfrace. The car is entirely black with black windows. Only goes out on special show days. The engine has 22ct gold fixings and 9ct gold plated cam covers etc. Interior is black leather. The gearbox is a specially designed Borg-Warner and all the drive train is specially built for the car. Originally the TT stood in the foyer at Wolfrace in Bedford. I used to work at McCarthy & Stone which was around the corner. The car did a few runs at Pod with another friend of mine, the late Alan 'Bootz' Herridge. His wife, Sylvia Hauser, one time women's top fuel world champion also drove it a couple of times.

The car is now mothballed and may never be driven again because it is not road legal anymore.

Really I guess it should be in a motoring museum, its priceless and unique.

To my knowledge there was only one built to this specification and with this level of extra's, so I would think this may well be the same car.

Needless to say the car is not kept in the garages along with the collectors other 7 Sd's, he doesn't advertise where the car is kept for obvious reasons. However he will show the car by appointment.

The TT is a very special car and a very valuable one too.

Both marques have been used on time trials. Once in the early 80's and again in the late 80's/early 90's.

I do remeber Tony Pond crashing one of these just as he came off the start ramp of the 1983/84 RAC rally he travelled 400 yards and went straight into a tree

Won the BTCC back in 1982 IIRC ... awesome motors and that luvverly V8 sound ..... Happy days ... gone forever ....

Had a V8 back then. Scared myself once or twice until I learned how to drive it ... takes time ... great fun once you knew your and your car's limits .....

i cant recommned Tony Ponds vid of his TT blat enough, its unbelievable

he casually comments his car is sliding a bit........as he is at 100 and er,6 inches from a garden wall

its a very humbling vid, reminds you what talent is really like

sorry,off topic,as its a different car,but worthy of a hijack i think

My Great uncles is still on the road today I will call him to find out who converted it for him. I know it was converted at new, and it runs aprox 2inches lower than a standard one. His gearbox is of american origin. His car is Bright Red so it isn't the same car as the other.

Down near to where I live, there was a real eye-catcher of an Sd. Lowered, bright red, side-winder exhausts out of each side, every concievable engine modification done, side skirts and full bodykit. The car was immaculate. The bloke was 83 yrs old when he sold it to a friend of mine. He had the car from new, had all the work done during that time. It was a 1981 reg car. My friend bought it 4 yrs ago with 12500 miles on the clock from new, the car had been stored in a barn for 10 yrs because the guy felt he was too old to handle such a car to its best potential. My friend bought it for £950, wrote it off in an accident 6 months later.

Make sure it is a twin plenum model, as these were rarer, and a bit quicker.
85 model-------0-60 7.1
0-100 19.8
max 129 mph.
not bad for a twenty year old car.
