I just got a 1.6 one of these and I gotta tell you guys its a bloody good!! Its very easy to drive, massive amount of room, fit 4 adults no problems (due to its american market origins) and more extras than you could shake a sick at! I needed something a bit cheaper and this is just the ticket! Not many of them around either so you get something thats not seen about that much! Got a bit of poke due to the VTEC engine but from the outside you would never know it.......

Is anyone with a back catelogue of car magazines able to look up the performance stats for a 1.6 vti coupe ? I'd be really interested in the published time for 0 - 100 mph! in addition to the usual 0 - 60

Cheers!!

I had 1 of these before I bought the Scooby
Think 0-100 was about 20 seconds, always depends on what magazine you read when getting these times.
Nice car though.

Thumbs up

I had a 1.6 4dr a few years back and it was great, had it off the clock @ 8600rpm in top so certianly good for 145mph.

Now got a 1.8 VTI aerodeck which does not rev as freely as the 1.6 but has more useable torque and limited slip diff. 1.8 has 172BHP

They are great cars and annonymous which suits me fine, plod and scum tend to leave them be.

I had one in 99/00 for a while and was well impressed for a 1.6 engine as it seemed to just keep on revving and the handling was great. The only complaint I really had was that when your on motorways doing about 70-80 mph it would drone like a diesel.

Great car though and had a lot of fun in it as well

I haven't heard a owner that didn't like it!!! I do like it for its anonymous looks, free revving engine, the amount of space etc...fantastic amount of car for the money!!
