330d, chipping & mpg?
#1
Just bought a 330d sport, got 18 mpg in my Alpina, when test drove the 330d ave mpg read 37. Has anyone chipped their 330d, what were the differences in performance, and, more importantly, what mpg do you now get???

Read a road test on a 330tD a while back in CCC.
Although from what i can see, it doesn't mention if it's a sport, but it is an auto.
Performance went from 184bhp to 226bhp/
Torque went from 287lb ft to 368lb ft.
They quote "we gave the BMW death all day..and the computer still said 34mpg"
Cheers

Hi bobby
do a seach on http://www.bmwcarmagazine.com/forum/ there is a lot of discussion on chipping the 330d, the current favourite appears to be the tuning box @ http://www.tuningbox.com/, the uk supplier is based in ireland. no one has reported adverse effects on mpg yet. i currently get 36mpg on average on my unchipped 330d with 11K on the clock
hope this helps
