Yeah, but for £28K you could buy yourself a nice Porsche 993 - proper sports car

Be honest though - what would you rather have - a Renault Clio or a Porsche 911??

I'd rather have 2 Clio Cup's than one Clio V6

My mate actually flogged his mk1 V6 to get a Cup as it was just as fast, but 1/2 the price...

Its gona be an old Porsche 911 for 28k so I would go for the Clio, and even though the Porsche would be loads faster I think the Clio would still turn more heads. You just can’t get away from the fact that it’s a great looking car.

993 - roughly 6 years old - last of the air cooled 911s - total classic and fabulous looks, stunning performance. Clio looks OK, but it is STILL a Renault Clio and £28K is a awful lot to pay for a euro super mini. I would also bet that the 993 would hold its value better

Each to his own, if I were spending 28k on a car I wouldn’t spend it on a Clio. But if I had to have one of the two my money would be on a new V6 rather than a 6 year old 993.

28K would nearly buys an early LHD 996! Check out www.911virgin.com

How anyone would choose a bloody Clio over a 993 is beyond me

good list there chrisp and I'd probably have a couple of them over the v6 Clio......I wasnt implying there isnt anything better for the money, but I do think if you should compare like for like i.e. NEW vs NEW, which you have .

Yep I agree you can get a lot of second hand motor for 27-30K and you should really compare new for new.

If mid engined RWD is what your after then the options are limited.£28k is a lot for a Clio but still cheaper than most of it's peers.
