mondeo heater blowers only work on one setting?

Check the back of the switch isnt melted and that the heater motor resistor (situated in the passenger foot well just under the dash in the heater box...held in by 2 torx screws with a plug on it) isnt melted on the plug......if it looks ok then just replace the heater resistor.......

apples, it used to be a common fault on the Mondeos....99% its going to be the resistor to be honest and the switch will be ok.
If you go under the dash in the N/S foot well and pull down the panel you will see the resistor in the heater box (which is behind the centre console). They used to melt the plug and burn out so you can get a new resistor from Ford and also a loom repair kit which comes with a plug and about 8" of loom which you just cut off the old plug and solder the new plug on. Just make sure you get the wires the right way round as they are not forced to come with the same colour wiring!
The resistors are actually in the flow of air to try and keep them cool...all it does is resists the power to the motor so at full chat you get 12.5 volts, at speed 2 you get rougly 10 volts and at 1 you get 8.5ish.
