I'm after something for my sister for around £2k that needs to be reliable and cheap to run. I was thinking Peugeot 306, Escort, Old shape Almera, Rover 214 etc probably between an 'N' and 'R' plate.

Does anyone have any experience of running any of these at this age and things to look out for. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

if its for your sister, go for a 106. Nice and small and excellent on petrol

 

What about a Mondeo - tons of parts, and great cars to run. 2nd to that I'd go for a Civic.
