Interesting comparison figures -- it would be even more interesting to see what a "sport" diesel like the Ibiza PD130 does against things like the CTR and Clio 172.

I thought everything in the table was OK but afterwards it was all T8TS up!

My apologies if you cannot make head no tail of.

I post some more figures over the weekend i.e. VAG PD 130, 150 and V6's, I'll have a look at the BMW's also 320D & 330D.

At the moment I'll probably be only able to afford a 110 or 115PD model as I'm saving for a house.

Cheers

Cool

Ricky,

Interesting comparison. My Girlfriend has recently bought a 98 GTTDI 110 and it's great! It's only done 42K miles, and is nicely run in. I drove it today and it's certainly got some great midrange grunt.

Having said that, I've got a new 330d Sport, so that's even better!

Spend time finding the right one, and you'll not regret it. Would be worth getting a 115 though if you can get one.

Cheers
Matt

Ricky,

I got an Ibiza TDi Sport last week, and it's getting chipped on Tuesday; 182bhp / 300+ lb/ft from APR.

As standard it's no Scooby, but it posts 49mpg when the RB5 ran at 25, and it isn't exactly slow. Once it's chipped, lowered and has some Superlegg's on it I think it'll be the business.

does anyone know of the figures between the various golf gti's.............mk 1 - 4

is it right that the earlier gti's are faster than the newer mk4's even though the newer ones have a higher bhp???

A Mark II 16V did 0-60 in 7.7, and the 40-60 / 50-70 increments in 4th gear in around 7 seconds IIRC.

The Mark IIs only weighed about 1000kg, the Mark IIIs were at least 150kg heavier with no extra power, no wonder they were slower ...
