Default Help me find a new car

Hopefully going to be getting a new car on lease or PCP sometime over the coming months, yes I know I was a doubter but you just can't get away from the numbers, especially up to and around the £150 a month mark when compared to what it costs to run my car.

So I'm after something small with a bit of go that can also do the 50/60mpg thing.

Where you guys come in is my knowledge on other marques hot superminis is pretty limited and my current favourite is the Fiesta Ztec ecoboost 140 black or red edition @ £155 a month, which is quite a car for the money, I know the ST is better but I don't fancy rock hard suspension or the £200+ a month payments.

So what other hot little motors are there out there, names and numbers please.

I had a ds3 dsport +, that was a very good car, built well and gave me no grief from new for just over 2 years, came fully loaded bar nav.
It's a touch bigger than the fiesta

Took a look at the DS3, 1st problem is the prices being asked for one put me close to CORSA VXR and Fiesta ST prices, but the biggest hurdle is the performance figures on the petrols aren't up to much and I don't want diesel, but cheers for the pointer.

As for the other suggestion Mr dpb, that would probably be enough of a car 99% of the time and quite fun too, but I wouldn't much fancy going on the motorway in it, especially for the 1200 mile trip out here.

I still keep coming back to the Fiesta Zetec ecoboost 140 black, found it for £168 inc vat too, so seems to be the ball park figure for them, that said the 125 version is probably good enough for my needs and I have found that at £138 inc vat, which is also quite tempting, if I were in the UK now I'd probably pull the trigger on one of them now, just going to have to bide my time till may june though me thinks.

Swift sport? not a million miles from the 55-60mpg you are after and I would chose a slightly lower mpg over compromised engine wear/reliability any day.

I have looked at the swift but can't find one for a decent price on either PCP or lease, currently best deal is still the fiesta £119 for zetec s 125 ecoboost and that's with 10k miles limit comes down a tenner for 8k miles.

i dunno anything about the black or red efforts, but in 2009 the current fiesta (pre aston facelift) the Titanium was a far better spec'd car, and the full body kit was a 500 quid option.

Couldn't find that one in my history, been looking at too many recently but here is the company and this is for the 140 red, just fill in your own search and see what pops up, deals seem to change daily as well so you'll need to contact them asap.

Not bad but £2k up front is a bit steep, the ones I've been looking at are about £600 to a grand up front, which I don't mind as it still works out cheaper than my car over 2/3yrs and I get to release my capital that's in my car.

How did you get on?

Forgot to say, it is a good deal and in my eyes leasing or PCP makes way more sense than spending anywhere between £15 and 30k of your own money on a new car and taking a 40 to 60% hit on your capital over 3yrs, I prefer to put my money into things that make money and anyone with a modicum of financial nous knows new cars are a major liability.

These days with offers like this it's a no brainer, fixed cost motoring is the new bangernomics, the king is dead, long live the king.

various French factories have been "raided" with what appears to be an investigation into similiar issues to the American VW emissions problems........

Cheers for the link. I've been so busy I totally forgot to check back on the thread! I'm just thinking about it at the minute. I can get a car through the NHS scheme but these seem a lot cheaper!

I was trolling through lease deals yesterday and found a micra or Yaris, can't remember which now as it was half way through over 1000 deals, but it was £88 for 3yrs on 10k miles per year, stupid cheap, thing I'm discovering is if you're prepared to troll through loads of the deals you can find some pearlers tucked away, most others for the same sort of car were £114 to £130.
