Default Audi A5 tdi

Anyone been in one and what's your thoughts?

I went in a friend's mapped A5 3.0 tdi a few days ago. Even with three of us in it (none of us are particularly light), I was shocked at how quick it was. I know it's a 3.0 diesel, but even still. Very impressed tbh, especially with the build quality. Granted it's a year younger than my hawk, but it has 90k on it (as opposed to my hawks 32k) and doesn't have a single knock / rattle etc.

Diesel technology has moved forward a lot in terms of performance...I do think the A5's are starting to look really old now though, but each to their own....

Nearly bought a A5 3.0tdi a few years ago. Very quick cars as standard. You'd need a very long road to get past one, even in a performance car. A chipped one would be an absolute weapon. Don't think the handling is up there with your Hawk, as when EVO had an S5, they said it's more like a fast cruiser than anything else.

Look good in Blue or Black with a fixed rear spolier on. Think someone on here has a RS5 in Blue.

I've got a 58 plate A5 3.0tdi Quattro.
It's an auto with paddle shift. Quick car with 4 wheel drive.bang and olufsen sound system which is superb.sat nav.black leather heated seats.nice and comfortable.it does shift with 500 nm of torque .would really shift if chipped I think it takes it to 300hp and 600nm.

Not so great if getting people in and out of back seats.bit of a struggle other than that I think it's a nice looking safe in winter cruiser..great performance and get between 35-40 mpg.

My mates tt has better handling if that's your thing.but mine eats it in a straight line.owned for a year and still love it.

I've driven the 3.0 tdi. I was reasonably impressed with the speed. Handling did feel like a typical rep mobile though. I would like to have a go in the s5 but most of them are out of my price range anyway.

I've had an S5 for the past few years. Echo most of the sentiments above. All good but also I do agree that the original model is getting on a bit now. Mine is an 08 with the 20" RS wheels; a stunning car in its day but I'm starting to look for something newer as it is now falling into the bracket of being owned by muppets and dare I say starting to look a bit 'chavvy'.

The bang and olufsen is fantastic though, and not a single rattle or knock with 64k on the clock.
