Using subtle hints and gentle persuasion, our totally non car interested knackered diesel Ford galaxy owning mates now have a 275bhp petrol Volvo XC90; hurrah!!

I sold my mate my Impreza

He then replaced it with a Astra automatic
As above, those things sup fuel like it's going out of fashion, as in 16 to 23mpg which is in the region of half of what the Galaxy would do, Subaru's are bad enough but that's just a whole new level, at least they'll make some new friends at the local petrol station.
This car will do very low, local miles. They have a new 1.6 diesel Caddy people carrier/van thing for distance stuff (company car).
Any time a diesel is replaced with s petrol is a victory in my eyes.

Well the scoob did replace a 2.5 petrol X-trail....fuel consumption was about the same.
So I'll mark that down as a partial win, as at least the fuel is being put to better use

335d to M135i.
VW California 2.0 BiTDi to Subaru Outback 2.5 petrol.
Four turbos to one but gained half a litre and still much more fun.
I've given up, loads my mates always had grand idea's of owning nice cars, some are whimped and others own diesel's even though they live a short distance from there work place and are in well paid jobs
Only one of my mates has had 2 Civic type r's

I have to say the Volvo is a HUGE amount of car for the money.
Yep it's thirsty but it has a big tank so range is still okay.
Cracking stereo (I mean REALLY good), amazingly clever interior, leather, sunroof, etc, etc and it pulls very well. It also hasn't dated and looks pretty good.
£4600 for an 03 plate with 84k miles - astonishing!
