thinking of getting together on a regular basis for meets and/or runs. hoping to make first meet, a chat and drink to get to know each other.
need a good pub with a decent car park, that is not difficult to find and is fairly central for all concerned.
i have one just outside southport, any other ideas gratefully accepted.

The Wiggin Tree near Parbold seemed a good size last time.

A couple of miles down the A5209 from M6 J27. Midweek evening parking for a good fifty cars I'd say.

 

Yes but if after an enjoyable discussion, you exit towards the village in search of something more challenging than the M6 do remember the Gatzo at the bottom of the hill.

Cool, someone else who lives in Southport. That's 3 of us now 8-)

 

Count me in, a decent meet up place may be the Punch Bowl pub near Maghull and you peeps from Southport can have a blast along that quality B road off the Formby bypass down to the pub.

I ALSO WENT TO WIGGIN TREE NEAR PARBOLD ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO.CAR PARK IS IDEAL SIZE FOR A REGULAR MEETING SPOT.ALSO IF YOU TURN RIGHT AFTER GATSO CAMERA FOLLOW SIGNS FOR RUFFORD THERE IS A CRACKING ROAD.

 

have to echo saints comments on that road.

there is quite a few good roads around there used to do a lot of cycling around there when i was a lad.

never been to a meet but i'm ready to come out the closet plus my wife doesn't really understand me (b 4 all the benny hill coments i'm talking about my scooby passions).
