my rocker gaskets went the the oil seals in turbo went.
replaced the gaskets then when took turbo off found it to be a td04l not correct on a 98 sti so bought a vf24 fitted it all then fitted a blitx induction kit and a front mount and the car wont run properly, it spluters when u try to accelerat, drops in revs allmost as if its going to cut out, im a bit lost and cant seem to find anything wrong

what has the car been mapped for ?

just reading through your post you have said you have changed turbo fitted a front mount and induction kit but no mention of an aftermarket mapped ecu

i'd put it back to standard until you have sorted mapping an ecu

one other question are you 100% sure it's an sti ?

have you checked the ecu code/injectors (ie are they yellow) to see if it matches what an sti should have

i personally thought an 98 sti had a IS ecu and a vf22 turbo

I got the car as an sti. Then gaskets went and found out it had a td04l fitted. Stil has standard sti ecu. All i have done is fitted the standard sri turbo ie vf24 and a frontmount and filter. Ecu i am in process of buying.

assuming it has the correct ecu then it should run fine. I would check all intercooler hose connections, its not uncommon for air leaks under boost with clips that are usually supplied with the intercoolers. Also check the fuel regulator has not been disturbed. It does sound air leak related though so double check all plumbing

It sounds to me like your car needs a remap which will involve an aftermarket ECU such as Simtek, Apexi or whatever.
