Question Rear tyres ??? mmmm

Yes I know it should be in the tyre section just need a few of the SMACS opinions

Whilst checking my tyre pressures ive noticed my rear tyres are almost if not onto the wear indicator - should i change them now or wait a bit? (current tyres on rear are pirelli p6000)

ive got 2 new goodyear eagle f1`s in my loft ready to go, once these go on they will match my front which are quite new, so i will put them onto the back and the rears to the front. if you know what i am banging on about
or should i stop being tight and change them anyway

thanks in advance

Justin

If they're still legal Justin, keep them on the back. Only change tyres when they're illegal or damaged.
Remind me of your dillema at the meet in April, if you've not done anything by then, I know a man who can give you a proffesional opinion

I think user manaual suggests not having more that 2mm difference in tyre tread depth between all tyres. Bald rears and new fronts would be more than 2mm, more like 5mm different.

Buy them in sets and rotate them often, that keeps them reasonably equal.

Just measured them now - front are 8mm and rear are 3mm so i think i will change them this weekend.
